5 Tips/ Techniques for Better Photography

1. Choose An Interesting Subject to Photograph
An interesting subject can be found everywhere, from a stormy landscape, to a simple street scene, to a flower in your garden or local park. Having a cool subject will increase the attractiveness of the photograph.

2. Reduce Camera Shake
Blurry photos can be a problem, especially if shooting handheld when it is relatively dark. The key to reducing blur caused by camera shake is either to make sure you are using a fast shutter speed or to make sure the camera has a solid support like a tripod.

3. Move In Closer
Each time you spot a subject, snap a shot and then move in closer for a better shot. Having your subject almost fill the frame helps your viewer understand and appreciate your photo. Also, details are often more interesting than an overall view.

4. Watch The Weather
Look outside and decide whether or not you are going to want to have the sky in your picture. If it's overcast, simply keep the sky out of your pictures as much as possible. This is usually the best way to avoid both muted tones in your subject and washed-out skies in your background. You might also find black and white pictures of an overcast day more pleasing than color.

5. Be Ready - Moments Come and Go Quickly
Some shot opportunities only last a second or 2, and if you don’t have your camera in your hand, turned on, and set to reasonable settings you may miss it.
